First Day Hike
January 1, 2018. Each year on January 1st a spirited group of hikers gather to join in on Shakamak State Park's First Day Hike. In 2018, the temps were just above zero degrees, yet approximately 50 people came out to stretch their legs on this frigid winter's day.

The Friends of Shakamak hosted snacks following the hike, complete with hot chocolate and coffee to warm up from that fresh, winter air.
